About

A sanctuary, not a spa

Iremia is a bathhouse in Sandgate built around one idea: that recovery should be something ordinary people do regularly, not something they book once a year.

The people behind it

Iremia is owned and run by Robbie Paraha and Linzi: Sandgate locals, parents, and the same pair behind Ako Martial Arts a few minutes away. You will see them in the room most weeks, because they use it the same way you do.

Robbie has spent years training and coaching on the mats. The bathhouse exists because recovery kept him there, and because Sandgate deserved a place built for it.

Say hello

If you see us in the room, come say hello. The best feedback we get is face to face, and we would rather hear it warm from the pool than cold from a form.

Why we built it

We wanted a place where hot and cold recovery was uncomplicated, close to home, and priced so that coming every week was realistic rather than reserved for special occasions.

Most recovery spaces are either clinical or expensive. We wanted neither. The room is calm, the sessions are simple, and nobody is going to sell you a package on your way out.

Sandgate is where we live. The bathhouse is for the people who live here too.

What we care about

Regulation over intensity

The point isn't how cold you can go. It's whether you leave calmer than you arrived.

Clear over clever

Real prices on the page, honest answers about what a session does, and no claims we can't stand behind.

Habit over occasion

Recovery does very little as a one-off. Everything here is built to make it repeatable.

Everyone in the room

Athletes, parents, shift workers, people recovering from something. All of them belong here.
