Version Final 1.3 · Effective date 21 October 2026

Membership Terms & Conditions

Iremia Recovery Sandgate · Paraha BJJ Pty Ltd · ABN 66 659 902 235

1. Definitions and agreement

In these Terms, "Iremia", "we", "us" or "our" means Paraha BJJ Pty Ltd trading as Iremia Recovery. "Member", "you" or "your" means the person named in the Membership Agreement. The Membership Agreement, these Terms, the Fee Schedule, applicable facility rules, the Privacy Policy and the signed Iremia Recovery Conditions of Entry & Health Declaration together form the membership arrangement. "Minimum term" means the 12-week minimum commitment period in clause 3. "Hold" means a pause requested by the Member under clause 7. "Suspension" means access paused for non-payment under clause 5. "Private booking" means a booking made as a private booking, or a booking for 15 or more people. Any other booking is a "standard booking".

2. Services and membership access

Iremia Recovery Sandgate provides wellness and recovery services including Traditional Saunas, Infrared Saunas, Cold Plunge Pools, Magnesium Pools and Compression Therapy. Membership entitlements depend on the plan selected in the Membership Agreement and set out in the Fee Schedule.

  • Memberships are personal and non-transferable.
  • Membership access, sessions and benefits must not be shared, sold, assigned or used by another person.
  • Bookings remain subject to availability, opening hours, service capacity and reasonable facility rules.
  • Promotional, introductory or corporate offers (for example, bonus sessions) apply only on the terms stated in writing for that offer.

3. Minimum term and ongoing membership

Unless otherwise stated in writing, memberships have a minimum term of twelve (12) weeks, starting on the membership start date or the first payment date.

At sign-up, the Membership Agreement must state whether the membership ends at the end of the 12-week minimum term or continues weekly. If it continues, weekly billing continues until the membership is cancelled under clause 8.3.

4. Weekly sessions

Membership sessions are allocated weekly and must be used within that week. The session week runs from Monday to Sunday. Unless the selected plan expressly says otherwise, unused sessions cannot be carried over, accumulated, credited, exchanged for cash or transferred to another week or person.

5. Payments and failed payments

Membership fees must be paid in full and on time under the payment arrangement selected at sign-up and the current Fee Schedule. Members must keep payment details current and make sure enough funds are available.

If a payment fails, Iremia will retry it. If it is still unpaid, your access will be paused until the arrears are paid, and Iremia will tell you in writing when access is paused. Your membership stays valid during this time. Iremia does not keep adding membership fees as an open debt while access is paused, and the 12-week minimum term is extended by the number of weeks access is paused. If a payment remains unpaid for 4 weeks, Iremia will cancel the membership by written notice.

Any joining, administration, dishonour, payment-provider or other charge must be itemised in the current Fee Schedule and permitted by law. At the effective date, all of these are $0.

6. Cooling-off period

You may end this agreement within 48 hours of first entering it by giving Iremia written notice by email to info@iremiarecovery.com. Iremia will refund fees paid, less any amount Iremia is legally entitled to keep. Iremia does not charge a cooling-off administration fee. Any refund will be processed within the time required by law. The date and time the cooling-off period ends is recorded in the Membership Agreement. This cooling-off right is in addition to any other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Membership holds

You may put your membership on hold for up to 8 weeks in each membership year, with each hold lasting at least 1 week, no more than 2 holds per membership year, and at least 7 days' written notice before the hold starts. There is no hold fee.

During an approved hold, billing and session entitlements stop. The 12-week minimum term is extended by the length of the hold. A hold does not reduce your remaining minimum commitment. Hold requests must be made by email under clause 8.4.

8. Cancellation by the Member

8.1 Permanent sickness or incapacity. Where the law gives you a right to end the membership because permanent sickness or physical incapacity prevents you from using the services, you may give Iremia written notice with reasonable medical evidence. Refunds and any permitted fee will be calculated as the law requires.

8.2 Cancelling during the minimum term. You may cancel during the 12-week minimum term by giving written notice. The early cancellation charge is 2 weeks' membership fees, or the total fees remaining in the minimum term if that is less, calculated at your current weekly fee. Cancellation takes effect on the day Iremia receives your notice, and no further 14-day notice period applies.

8.3 Cancelling after the minimum term. If the membership continues after the 12-week minimum term, you may cancel by giving 14 days' written notice by email to info@iremiarecovery.com. The notice period starts on the day Iremia receives the email. Weekly fees remain payable during the 14-day notice period, and you may keep using your membership during that period.

8.4 How to give notice. To hold or cancel, email info@iremiarecovery.com with your full name and the relevant dates (the start and end of a hold, or the date you want the cancellation to take effect). Any notice period starts on the day Iremia receives the email. Iremia will confirm receipt in writing within 2 business days. Telling a staff member in person, including at reception, does not start any notice period.

8.5 Relocation. If you permanently move so that your new home address is more than 25 kilometres from Iremia Recovery Sandgate, Iremia will waive the rest of the minimum term and the early cancellation charge on receiving reasonable proof of your new address. Cancellation takes effect from the date agreed after the evidence is received.

8.6 Death of a Member. A membership ends on the death of the Member. No further fees will be charged after Iremia is notified and receives reasonable evidence where needed. Any prepaid fees for a period after that will be handled as the law requires.

9. Bookings, late cancellations and no-shows

You may cancel a standard session booking free of charge up to 6 hours before the booking time. A booking cancelled less than 6 hours before it starts, or not attended, counts as a no-show. This applies to every standard booking, whatever the size of the group.

For a no-show: (a) if the booking used a membership session or a prepaid pack session, that session is lost and is not credited, refunded or carried over; and (b) no fee is charged.

Private bookings (see clause 1) are not standard bookings. They have their own cancellation terms (at least 12 hours' notice), which are given at the time of booking.

Sessions of the same service cannot be booked back to back.

Booking limits, waitlist rules and other booking requirements may be updated on reasonable notice, as long as the changes do not unfairly change existing contractual rights.

10. Health, induction and safe use

Members must complete the Iremia Recovery Conditions of Entry & Health Declaration and any required induction before using the services, and must give accurate information relevant to safe participation. At each visit you will be asked whether anything about your health has changed.

  • Follow staff directions, safety signage and recommended service time limits.
  • Use facilities and equipment only for their intended purpose.
  • Tell staff about changes to your health or circumstances that may affect safe participation.
  • Stop using a service and tell staff if you feel unwell, dizzy, faint, short of breath or have an unusual or concerning reaction.
  • Do not use the facilities while affected by alcohol, illicit drugs or another substance that makes safe use inappropriate.

Iremia provides wellness and recovery services and does not diagnose medical conditions or give medical advice. Members should seek advice from an appropriate health professional if they are unsure whether a service is suitable for them.

11. Conduct and facility rules

Members must behave respectfully and follow reasonable facility rules and staff directions. Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, fraudulent, deliberately disruptive, unsafe or damaging conduct is not permitted.

Members must not deliberately damage equipment or facilities. A Member may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs for damage they cause, subject to the law.

12. Guests, age and assistance animals

Guest access is permitted only under Iremia's current guest policy. Guests must complete the Conditions of Entry & Health Declaration before using the facilities. Members must not let another person use their membership or booking entitlement.

Members must be 16 or over. A person aged 12 to 15 may be a Member for private bookings (as defined in clause 1) only, with a parent or guardian's signature on this Agreement and a parent or guardian supervising throughout the booking. Assistance animals are permitted as required by law.

13. Personal property, photography and surveillance

Members are responsible for securing their belongings. To the extent permitted by law, Iremia is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property brought onto the premises.

Members must not photograph or film another person without their consent. If CCTV or access monitoring is used, appropriate notices and privacy practices will apply.

14. Suspension or termination by Iremia

Iremia may suspend or end a membership by written notice if the Member:

  • materially breaches these Terms or a notified policy and, where the breach can reasonably be fixed, does not fix it within 7 days after written notice;
  • engages in serious, harmful, disruptive or unsafe behaviour or puts another person's safety at risk;
  • fraudulently uses membership benefits or allows unauthorised use; or
  • does not pay outstanding amounts after the process in clause 5.

Any refund of prepaid unused value after termination will be dealt with fairly and as the law requires. Serious safety misconduct, fraud or other circumstances may affect any refund, subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Facilities, services and temporary closures

Iremia may make reasonable operational changes to opening hours, timetables, equipment, service availability or facility arrangements, including temporary closures for maintenance, repairs, safety or events outside Iremia's reasonable control. If a change materially reduces your membership benefits for an ongoing period, Iremia will give reasonable notice and consider an appropriate remedy. If a closure, maintenance or equipment failure on Iremia's side means a booked session cannot go ahead, you will be offered a rebooking of that session. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

16. Fee and term changes

Iremia may change these Terms, the Fee Schedule or membership fees where reasonably necessary. Iremia will give at least 30 days' written notice before a material change affecting your rights, obligations or fees takes effect. Updated fees may be published in a replacement Fee Schedule without you needing to re-sign this Agreement. If you do not accept a change to fees or terms, you may cancel without the early cancellation charge before the change takes effect.

17. Privacy and communications

Iremia may collect and use personal information, including relevant health information, for membership administration, bookings, payments, safety, incident management and the other purposes described in its Privacy Policy. Members must keep their contact details current.

Membership and operational notices may be sent to your nominated contact details. Marketing messages are handled separately, with consent and unsubscribe options as required by law.

18. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in the Membership Agreement or these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Any limitation or exclusion of liability for recreational services, including personal injury, must be read subject to the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable legislation.

19. Debt recovery

If amounts properly payable under the Membership Agreement remain overdue after reasonable notice, Iremia may take reasonable steps to recover them. Any recovery costs passed on to the Member must be reasonably incurred, legally recoverable and not otherwise prohibited by law.

20. Business changes

If the ownership or operation of Iremia Recovery Sandgate changes, membership administration and payment arrangements may be transferred where the law allows. Members will be told of any material change, and personal information will be handled under applicable privacy requirements.

21. Entire agreement, severability and waiver

The Membership Agreement and the documents that form part of it make up the whole agreement between Iremia and the Member about the membership. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be read down or severed only as far as needed, and the rest remains in force. If Iremia does not enforce a right on one occasion, it does not waive that right on another occasion.

22. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. This does not limit any right you have under the law to bring a claim in another appropriate jurisdiction.
